Richard Cox Cleckler papers, 1892-1956.

The collection consists of the papers of Richard Cox Cleckler from 1892-1956. It includes letters, photographs, pastor's books, printed materials, notes, clippings, and certificates. All letters but one are written to Mary Kate Moss (1905, 1907). Photographs are portraits, a church, a church class, the Emory class of 1894, and Robber's Fountain. Pastor's books (1892-1940) contain church rolls, addresses, and accounts. Printed material includes pamphlets and leaflets related to the Methodist Church and religious education, including articles written by Methodist bishops and others. Some material relates to the World Sunday School Convention (1907).

Richard Cox Cleckler, Methodist clergyman, was born September 22, 1872 in Fairburn, Georgia, and died June 3, 1963 in Decatur, Georgia. He graduated from Emory College (1894) and was minister to churches in Atlanta, Calhoun, Covington, East Point, Jackson, and other Georgia cities and towns (1892-1940).
